bird in the ceiling

I came back to our office and surprisingly found that there was a baseball bat sitting on one of the tables. So I asked my colleague what was going on. And the anwser was that there is possibly a bird in our ceiling!

He intentionally opened one of the covers in the ceiling to trick the bird out. While he expressed his ambition to catch it with his baseball bat, I have been thinking of which exit I should take after it does come out.

However, I am still debating with myself. I don't want to miss the exciteness, but I am not sure what exactly is out there. All I know is that it has been actively wandering in the ceiling and making a lot of noises.

Can't wait!

Updates:

We opened another cover of the ceiling. Right after I came back from the lunch and was looking up into the ceiling, the bird, which looks very similar to a pigeon, flew straight out to the window. Since it had no knowledge of such a thing called glass, it made some hopeless attemps.

So I found an empty box and then my colleague helped to trap the bird into the box. After I politely delined his offer of letting me keep the bird, we sent it free outside the building.

very happy

Although I barely made it out of our apartment complex this morning (many thanks to the two strangers who helped me push my car out of the snow!), I didn't have any trouble getting back home.

Now I am sitting at home in my pj, ready to enjoy Season 2 & 3 of "Gilmore Girls", which was lent to me by Dem, and which, of course, was the drive of my enthusiasm to go out in such a weather.

The show is going to start. And I hope y'all have a wonderful day!

I couldn't resist the temptation to walk in the snow, so I took a trip to Busch's, the grocery store by my apt complex. It was fun. I love dry snow.

white elephant

Tonight was the last Conversation Group this year. We played "white elephant". It was tons of fun. I am very pleased with my gift "stolen" from someone else, which are two holiday mugs with bags of hot chocolate in them.

I was surprised that I enjoyed being with those people every single time. The organizers have been putting a lot of time and efforts into helping others and sharing gospel, and their work was genuinely appreciated, which was very heart-warming. Also, I feel I could be really useful there.

Hopefully next semester I would be able to contribute more. Let's see about that.

floating

The weekend is almost over, but I didn't have enough time for myself. Alright, I need to do absolutely nothing during the next weekend.

Being with people makes me tired. When I was younger, I dreamt about living in the mountains. Maybe I am still the same.

Also, when I am at home, I feel happier if I could turn off the noises from the outside world by turning off the TV and computer. Too bad that I was often sucked into the show or internet.

my wishlist

Here are something I want or I want to be done by the end of this year:

1. The Simpsons Season 6;
2. Better working environment for my husband;
3. Finish reading the New Testament;
4. Getting some sensible results from ANSYS.

And I hope my family and friends stay healthy and joyful, always!

cranky

This week has been a little bit overwhelming. I need an entire day to be myself, or to do whatever I feel like to do, instead of being dragged along by the schedules.

I look forward to this Saturday.

time for Homer

"If something is too hard to do, then it's not worth doing."

"Kids, you tried your best and you failed miserably. The lesson is, never try."

Yep, today I am in the middle of such a situation.
